Dan Thomas has always taken the path of least resistance - at work, at home, even in his love life. But when Dan finds himself kicked out of the family home, he’s faced with no option but to secretly move into the telephone call centre where he works.

Suddenly, everything that he’s previously taken for granted - hot showers, clean clothes, friends, his self-respect, even his beloved cat - are either disappearing or conspiring against him.

A DARKLY ROMANTIC COMEDY ABOUT THE DANGERS OF PUTTING LIFE 'ON HOLD'

Adapted by Matt Thorne and Nicolas Blincoe from Matt’s own award-winning novel, 8 Minutes Idle features an exciting ensemble of rising British talent, headed by Tom Hughes (Cemetery Junction), Ophelia Lovibond (Mr Poppers Penguins), Montserrat Lombard (St Trinian’s 2) and Antonia Thomas (Misfits).

It’s directed by BBC New Filmmakers finalist Mark Simon Hewis and produced by Sarah Cox, who’s company ArthurCox delivered the 2010 BAFTA-winning animation Mother of Many.
